Our first wedding anniversary. We made it a whole year.
On our actual anniversary we were recovering from a long day of moving furniture and boxes. The 10th was Monday, and the previous weekend we spent in Colorado. We had flow to Denver on the Thursday before in order to attend Matt Olsen’s wedding in Estes Park. It was a great event and we got to see a few old friends we hadn’t see in a while.
The rest of the weekend we spent with friends and family staying at the Lenore’s in Arvada and with Megan’s sister and parents in Denver. As a bonus, the bakery which made our wedding cake offered a free first anniversary cake and we had perfect timing being back in Denver to take advantage of this. They were able to accommodate us a few days early and we picked up an Almond Silk cake on Saturday. After a great dinner including Matt, Jan, Jason, Jessie, Dan, Ashley, and Jan’s famous spaghetti and meatballs we all enjoyed a bit of delicious cake from Das Meyer.
With Sunday morning came time to head back to CA. We took a early flight that got us into SJC at 10:30 and went straight to U-haul to pick up our moving truck. The rest of Sunday was spent moving from Campbell to Sunnvale.
On the 10th Megan had to work late but came home at 9 to a hand picked bouquet of flowers from the local bushes around town. The next weekend we had a reservation at Palacio in Los Gatos, a fancy restaurant Megan had been eyeing for some time. We had a great dinner, and when leaving we got to see Steve Wozniak, co founder of Apple. He and his family had been eating behind us and left the restaurant with some 16 dollar burgers to go, dinner for their dogs!
On to the next year.
